What is a wind mitigation inspection?
A wind mitigation inspection documents how well your home is built to withstand hurricane-force winds. We record features like roof shape, roof-to-wall attachments (straps or clips), roof deck fastening, the roof covering, and any impact-rated or protected openings. These are reported on the state's official OIR-B1-1802 form.
Why insurers ask for a Wind Mitigation report
Florida law requires insurers to give premium discounts for qualifying wind-resistant features — but you only get those credits if they're documented on a wind mitigation report. THE BEST INSPECTORS I'VE EVER DEALT WITH. I'm from Broward, relocated to Martin County & have used multiple inspectors for investment properties & my personal home. Other companies avoid looking deep (crawl spaces) or getting dirty. This company does. Our inspector (Calvin) is very nice, extremely detailed & his extra steps have saved me thousands. Shocking, because the price for mold, 4-points & wind was VERY competitive.

I will never be able to tell you how impressed I was with Vcita Home Inspection & Services LLC. If you've ever seen the movie Minority Report where they sent spiders into the house examining the whole building—well, he is futuristic just like that. Calvin (the owner) even had drones.
